Ed Henscheid grew up in southwest Iowa. As a teen, in the 1960’s, he was part of the counter-cultural movement, involved in substance abuse and other rebellious activities. During this time, someone shared with him why Jesus came to the earth, and died on the cross for his sin. Shortly thereafter, when he was about 17, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Around the same time he started writing songs. Over the years he wrote about varied themes, such as about life and family, but most of his music reflects his personal Christian beliefs.

He started his own painting business in 1971. He has been married to the same woman since 1982 and has two grown children. Through the years he has also pursued his musical endeavors which he has used to spread the gospel.

Ed graduated from a bible college in Toccoa, Georgia,, with a degree in music composition in 1989. Then he went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, for one year, with an emphasis in evangelism. He and his family moved back to Iowa in August, 1990.

In October 1991, Ed launched Imminent Day Ministries. It is a ministry that focuses primarily on at-risk-youth, sharing with them through music and regular bible studies, the truth of God’s Word. In the past twenty years, Ed has had the privilege to encourage thousands of troubled youth and has won hundreds to the Lord.

Ed has recorded several CD’s for you to hear samples of his songs on I-Tunes. Also, look for performances of Ed on YouTube. In addition, as you stay posted, take advantage of downloading free bible lessons, articles, poetry, and music.
