Statement of Faith

I, Ed Henscheid, subscribe to the following statement of biblical doctrines, which identifies me with the evangelical movement of Christianity and establishes my purpose:

  • I believe the Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God as originally given, and final authority as originally intended.
  • I believe there is one Absolute God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • I believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
  • I believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, and in his sinless manhood, that he identifies with both God and man, and therefore is the only mediator between God and man.
  • I believe in the bodily crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, and that there is no forgiveness of sin nor salvation apart from His all-sufficient, substitutionary, sacrificial, atoning, shed blood.
  • I believe that all have sinned and must repent of their sin and put their faith in Christ in order to receive eternal life.
  • I believe that salvation is by the Grace of God, that it is a free gift, and that it has nothing to do with works or doing good deeds to obtain eternal life.
  • I believe that as a new creation In-Christ, that the so-called “old nature” has been crucified, that it no longer exists, because of the finished work of Christ.
  • I believe that all believers can be victorious over sin through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
  • I believe that Jesus Christ is coming again and will judge the living and the dead, the saved and the lost, according to their deeds.
